In September 2005, Educational Testing Service (E.T.S.) unveiled the next generation TOEFL test, known as the TOEFL iBT (internet-based test). The TOEFL iBT is administered only on computer, and unlike previous versions of the test, the new TOEFL iBT includes a Speaking Section and requires test takers to complete integrated tasks that require the use of more than one skill. The older versions of the TOEFL, including both the paper-based and original computer-based tests, are no longer offered in the United States. These older versions of the TOEFL will still be offered in some countries until 2007, when the TOEFL iBT will replace them worldwide.
