The first section on the TOEIC is the Listening section. The Listening section contains 100 questions and consists of four question types: photographs, question-response, short conversations, and short talks.
You will have 45 minutes to complete the entire section, and each question counts equally toward your score.
- Photograph questions are each accompanied by a picture in your test book. For each question, you will hear four short statements, which will not be printed in your test book. You must choose the statement that best describes what you see in the picture.
- For question-response, you will hear a question spoken in English, followed by three responses, also spoken in English. The question and responses will be spoken just one time, and will not be printed in your test book. You must then choose the best response to each question.
- Short conversations consist of brief exchanges between two people, which you will hear only once. In your test book, you will read a question about each conversation. The question will be followed by four answer choices.
- Short talks make up the final part of the Listening section. Each will be spoken just one time, and will not be printed in your test book. In your test book, you will read two or more questions about each short talk. Each question will be followed by four answer choices.
In your inlingua TOEIC course, you will learn how to actively listen to TOEIC listening materials, decipher TOEIC photographs, and correctly answer each type of Listening question.
